1991 Under the Spirit of Foundation “Making progress in science and technology to help improve the health and welfare of human beings “, Suzuka University of Medical Science and Technology” was founded with the main support of the Japan Association of Radiological Technologists and also with the help of Mie prefecture, Suzuka city and the Japan Industries Association of Radiation Apparatus—currently the Japan Medical Imaging and the Radiological Systems Industries Association.  The university started with 2 faculties. The Faculty of Health Science which included the department of Radiological Technology and the department of Clinical Nutrition and the Faculty of Medical Engineering which included the department of Medical Electronics and the department of Medical Information Science.
1996 Establishment of a Graduate school of Medical Imaging Information Science –Medical Information Specialist (masters course)
1998 Name change to Suzuka University of Medical Science
1999 Change to Division of Health Establishment of Medical Information Specialist (doctoral program)
Establishment of Department of Clinical Nutrition (masters program)
Establishment of the Oriental Institute Designation of the Department of Health Science as “an institute for registered dieticians"
2000 Designation of the Department of Health Science as “an institute for registered dieticians”
2002 Establishment of the Department of Physiotherapy in the Faculty of Health Sciences
Changing the name to the Department of Clinical Engineering in the Faculty of Medical Engineering
2004 Establishment of the Department of Medical Welfare in the Faculty of Health Sciences
Establishment of the Department of the Faculty of Acupuncture and Moxibustion and the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion
2008 Establishment of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (6 year course) at the new Shiroko campus
Establishment of the Childcare workers course in the Department of Medical Welfare
2009 Establishment of the Tokyo Satellite (graduate school)
2010 Establishment of the Division of Health Science Specialty in the graduate school
Closing of the registration of the Division of Health Science
2011 Establishment of the Nutrition Management course and the Medical Technology Course in the Department of Nutrition
2013 Establishment of the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion in the Faculty of Health Science stopping the registration of the Faculty of Acupuncture and Moxibustion
Establishment of the Clinical Welfare course and the Clinical Psychology course in the Department of Clinical Nutrition
2014 Establishment of the Faculty of Nursing, Department of Nursing and Graduate school, Division of Clinical Pharmacy Pharmaceutical Science (4 year doctoral course) at the Shiroko Campus
